Upgrade blood packages

£95 – Executive Bloods

This executive bloods test provides important information about the type, number and appearance of cells in the blood, especially red blood cells (vital for carrying oxygen around the body), white blood cells (key to the body’s immune system), and clotting cells (important for controlling and stopping bleeding). This is an important test for the diagnoses of anaemia which is caused by insufficient red blood cells or haemoglobin as assessing immune function.

 Blood tests included

FBC, CRP, Urea, Creatinine, ALP, ALT, CK, GGT, Bilirubin, Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin, Uric Acid, Iron, T.I.B.C, Transferrin Saturation, Triglycerides, Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Non-HDL, Total/HDL Cholesterol, HbA1c, TSH, Free Thyroxine, CA125 (Female) or PSA (Male) and Vitamin D (New test for this year).

£80 – PSA Prostate Cancer (Male Only, 50+)

Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) is a protein which is released into the blood by the prostate gland. An enlarged gland is often associated with higher levels of PSA. PSA levels can also rise with age, with prostatitis (infected prostate) or even vigorous exercise and ejaculation. It is useful to monitor PSA over time so that any change in what is normal for you can be investigated speedily. This is a blood test that will be sent to the lab for analysis

 £69 – CA125 Ovarian Cancer (Female Only)

Cancer Antigen 125 (CA125) is a protein which is produced by cancer cells and which can be raised in cancers of the ovary, lung, breast, pancreas and gastrointestinal tract.

As CA125 is also produced by normal cells it is important to know your base level and monitor regularly so that any change can be picked up early.

A raised level is not necessarily a sign of cancer, just as a low level does not guarantee that cancer is not present. However, we recommend that all raised levels are investigated further

 £55 – FIT Bowel Cancer

Bowel cancer, also known as colon, rectal or colorectal cancer is the result of the cells that make up the bowel growing too quickly and forming a clump of cells known as a bowel polyp. Polyps are not bowel cancers but they can sometimes change into a cancer over a number of years. FIT testing is used as a screening tool to detect bowel cancer at a very early stage in individuals who have no symptoms. The test detects tiny amounts of blood in the fecal sample that would not be seen with the naked eye because polyps and bowel cancers sometimes bleed. The earlier bowel cancer is detected in individuals increases the success of treatment.

For individuals 50 years or older, or with a family history of bowel cancer, the cost of the FIT test will be company paid. The Health and Wellness Expert on the day of your appointment will discuss the risk with you and offer the test if appropriate.

All tests are non-invasive, you do not have to disrobe for the tests and the results will NOT be made available to your employer, your GP or any other third party.
